Gala Bingo employee competing for Caller of the Year
16th June, 2008
Roger Hartley, a Sheffield bingo caller, is participating in a national Caller of the Year competition, which takes place later this month.
As a Gala Bingo Employee, Hartley made his way to the competition by showing his skills in the regional rounds and impressing the judges.
“I am absolutely ecstatic to be in the final,” Hartley said. “With the support I have received from the public I feel like a true star and can’t wait to show the judges what I’m made of.”
Hartley will be competing against some of the best callers from all over the country, but only one will be crowned the national champion. The finals take place Sunday, 29 June, in Birminghan.
“My bingo club has always prided itself on providing the best callers – I want to keep that reputation alive,” Hartley said.
Hartley, who is now 33 years old, has the experience to walk away with the title, having been in the bingo business for 10 years now.
The winner of the competition will be awarded a cash prize, along with an audition to be a caller on Gala TV channel.
